THRIVENT MEMBERS-- to designate your CHOICE DOLLARS, either call "800-847-4836" and state "Thrivent Choice," or on the internet you need to use this address: www.thrivent.com/thriventchoice and log in. Remember that this needs to be done each year by the end of March.
PICTURES--The Sunday School bulletin board has been remade and is displayed in the Family Life Center. If your child is not pictured or you want to include an updated photo, please put the pictures in the box in the narthex.
ONLINE GIVING--There is an online giving link on the first page of the church website. This is through the Joyful Response program of the Lutheran Church Extension Fund. You will need to enter your bank account information in order to have your donation deducted from your account to be transferred to the church's general fund account. You can do a one time donation or a recurring amount. There are also two other options available. On your phone you can download the Give+ app (it will say Vanco Payment Solutions) and make donations from your checking or savings account that way. You may also use the flyer located in the rack in the narthex (or request one to be sent to you by emailing [email protected]), fill it out and return it to the church (71955 Hwy 50, Elk Creek, NE 68348) to have us set it up for you. If you have any questions, please contact Ruth.
EMAIL ADDRESSES--If you have not been receiving the weekly announcements and bulletins, please send your email address to [email protected]. Thank you.
ANNOUNCEMENTS--If you have an announcement for the bulletin, please try to get it to Ruth through the church email--[email protected]--or leave your message in the basket outside the office door by noon on Thursday of each week. Thank you!
BEST CHOICE LABELS--The sewing ladies are still saving and sending in Best Choice labels to receive money to purchase sewing materials, etc. They make hundreds of quilts for the battered women and children of Friendship Home, Lincoln City Mission, and Orphan Grain Train, and also for the Omaha Children's Home. Please put labels in marked box in narthex.
CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS FROM IRAs--If you are 73 or older and required to take a "Required Minimum Distribution" from your IRA, you can have that distribution sent directly to the charity of your choice and thus avoid paying taxes on the distribution. You can exclude up to $100,000 every year but you cannot then deduct this as a charitable deduction. Contact your Tax Professional, Financial Advisor, or contact Thrivent (402-269-3003) if you have more questions.
THRIVENT ACTION TEAM--Each Thrivent member is allowed to apply for two Action Team Cards each year. Each card is worth up to an amount of $250. If you are unfamiliar with the program, please see one of our Thrivent representatives. They are Sheila Peters, Steve Schaardt, Bev Koehler, Mary Peters, Joyce Schaardt, LuAnn McCoy, Vernon Kettelhake, and Delores Othmer.
SUBSTITUTE SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS ARE ALWAYS NEEDED! Please give this consideration if you are able to help them out. Please let the Board of Education or the Sunday School teachers know if you can serve in this manner.
GREETING CARDS are available in the east cupboard in the kitchen of the Family Life Center for all occasions. We thank the Dorcas ladies for providing these for us to purchase.
